Diamond Lawns has operated out of Meridian since 2006. Our shop is on W. Amity Rd, which means Meridian lawns get the shortest response times we offer — for scheduled applications, for free re-services between visits, and for the kind of "something's wrong with my lawn" call that needs eyes on it the same week.
What makes Meridian lawns different?
Meridian spans a wide range of lawn ages. Older neighborhoods have established Kentucky bluegrass over settled soil, while the subdivisions that went up during the last decade of growth are still working through thin builder topsoil laid over compacted subgrade. Those two situations need different feeding rates, and treating them the same is why a lot of lawns here stall out.
What they share is the Treasure Valley's alkaline soil. High pH locks up iron, which is why Meridian lawns commonly go pale or yellow in midsummer even when they're watered correctly and fed on schedule. That's iron chlorosis, not a nitrogen problem, and adding more nitrogen makes it worse rather than better.
Our Meridian lawn fertilization program
Every Meridian lawn we treat is on the same six-application schedule, timed to Idaho's growing season rather than a national calendar: early-spring feeding with pre-emergent crabgrass control, late-spring broadleaf weed control, two summer feedings sized to heat stress, the heavy early-fall feeding, and a late-fall winterizer before the ground freezes. Rates are adjusted to your soil and turf, not applied from a template. See the full program breakdown.
Pest control in Meridian
Meridian's mix of established trees and newer construction gives us the full range of pest calls — ants and spiders working into homes along the foundation, wasps setting up under eaves and patio covers, and billbugs chewing through turf in the newer subdivisions where lawns are still thin.
Our perimeter treatments use family- and pet-safe products applied where pests actually travel and harbor, with free re-service between scheduled visits if something gets through. More on how pest control works.
Which Meridian neighborhoods do you serve?
We run scheduled routes across Paramount, South Meridian, and every subdivision in between. If you're not sure whether your street is covered, call (208) 484-5568 and we'll tell you straight away.
Free Meridian lawn assessment
We quote from an on-site visit, never over the phone from a square-footage guess. We walk the property, check soil and turf condition, look at sprinkler coverage, and identify what's actually limiting the lawn — then give you a per-application price with no obligation. Frequently asked questions
How quickly can you get to a Meridian lawn?
Meridian is where we're based, so it has our densest routes and our fastest turnaround. Free re-services between scheduled visits are usually handled within a few business days.
My Meridian lawn is yellow but I water it constantly. What's wrong?
That's almost always iron chlorosis from our alkaline soil, not a watering or nitrogen problem. High soil pH keeps the roots from taking up iron that's already in the ground. An iron application corrects the color; more water or more nitrogen won't.
My subdivision is new and the lawn came with the house. Does that change anything?
Yes. New-construction lawns in Meridian are usually sod over a shallow layer of builder topsoil on compacted ground. They need soil building and aeration to develop real root depth, and they're more vulnerable to billbugs until the turf thickens up.
